Nadira

Nadira Amaris is a Jamaican and Haitian-American writer and director. Brooklyn-born, South Florida-raised, and now, LA-based, Nadira has always been an avid fan of all things comedy, film, TV, and pop culture so, naturally, she always wondered what it would be like to make things instead of just watching them. Well, it took her a while to get out of her own way, but she got there eventually.

In 2024, she was named a semi-finalist for the Athena Film Festival Episodic Writers’ Lab for her pilot THE TEA CUP. Last year, she wrapped on her directorial debut, which premiered at the 2023 Athena Film Festival, and had its online premiere on the streaming platform NoBudge in May 2023. It was also selected as a finalist for the Film Independent x Hieronyvision 30x30 Contest and has screened at the All Street Gallery in New York City.

In her free time, she's either working on getting her ideas from the Notes app to Final Draft, rewatching old episodes of Real Housewives, or frequenting LA’s many flea markets in the hopes of decorating a home worthy of an Architectural Digest feature.
